This poor Sparton was in really sad shape when I first got it. It had been stored in an unheated garage for many many years. Bugs had moved in and the cabinet was fairly scratched up. I restored it and entered it into the 2009 MAARC contest. It took two first prizes. "Best of Show-Sparton" and best example of a "transition set". The Sparton AC7 uses 5 Cardon 401 tubes and a BH rectifier. This is an early AC plug-and-play radio.
My cabinet refinisher deserves all the credit here.
Two first prize awards from the Mid-Atlantic Antique Radio Club
